Concerts

Since I work at a concert venue, I often see the house photographers running around getting their shots. Although I have considered requesting a media badge to shoot a show, I have been too reserved due to my lack of experience and confidence when shooting portraits.

At the end of February, 2026, the band Dutch Gunderson requested that I photographed their first show in Richmond, VA. With no concert photography experience, I felt out of place and in the way throughout the entire night. To my surprise though, all four bands and the crowd that night were super chill and were encouraging me to continue shooting, even when I would stand in front of them to get the shot.
